With eBay Delivery, you can send luggage, even if we do not have a service dedicated exclusively to suitcases. We remind you that suitcases and luggage must always be packed in a box and it is important to weigh and measure them precisely. Any damage (scratches, tears, broken handles or wheels, etc.) or the loss of a suitcase and/or its contents is not protected by our extra protection cover if the suitcase has not been packed in a box. As a matter of fact, the suitcase casing is not considered sufficient packaging.
UPS does not accept baggage, while other transport companies do accept them, even if they are only wrapped. However, remember that in case of loss or damage, if you do not take extra packaging measures for your suitcase, our shipping platform extra protection will not be able to intervene in case of transport problems.
Restrictions
Make sure you do not include any prohibited or non-compensation items (deodorants, sprays, gels, flammable products, etc.) in your luggage, to avoid issues or sanctions during transportation. We also recommend that you always check the conditions of the transport company you have selected.
Packaging tips
Option 1 (not covered by the extra protection): Nylon film/Plastic wrapping
If you choose this packaging, your shipment will be not covered by our extra protection, and both the carrier and eBay Delivery are exempt from any responsibility.
- Insert a copy of the shipping label inside the suitcase.
- Place the luggage vertically.
- Tie the film to the handle of the suitcase so that it cannot come off.
- Wrap the suitcase generously in the nylon
- Fix the film with adhesive tape.
- Apply a second copy of the shipping document on one of the outer sides of the bag.
Option 2 (extra protection covered): Box or Cardboard
- Insert a copy of the shipping label inside the suitcase.
- Apply a second copy of the shipping document on one of the outer sides of the bag.
- Wrap the suitcase with at least 5cm of shock absorber, to protect the structure, wheels and handles.
- Get a cardboard container slightly larger than the size of the suitcase and remove any other labels or alternative addresses on the box that could confuse the courier.
- Seal the cardboard box carefully with a generous amount of packaging tape.
- In capital letters, write both recipient's name and address on the outer side of the box.
- Add a third copy of the transport document in a transparent bag and attach it to one side of the box.
Important
If the suitcase or luggage is not properly packed the extra protection will not cover the damage.
Coverage
In the event of damages, we will consider claims only for those items that were packed properly. The damage must be evident and clearly visible. Please note that no claims will be accepted for any items sent without respecting our Packaging Guide.
