With eBay Delivery you can send envelopes, letters or documents to a national or international destination.
Important
If you are sending your items outside the European Union, you must complete the customs invoice and attach it to the parcel, even if the documents do not require the payment of customs fees.
Tips
Ensure the content travels with sufficient protective material and that packaging is appropriate.
Make sure your shipment doesn't include goods displayed in our list prohibited and non compensation items.
Packaging materials
Please use the following materials while packing your items:
- Resistant paper envelope, based on both weight and dimensions of the content.
- Plastic envelope /waterproof bag.
- Cardboard sheets or folders.
- Cardboard tube.
- Bubble wrap.
- Packaging tape.
Packaging instructions
Once you have gathered all the materials, please follow these instructions to avoid any damages:
Envelope with documents/letters
- Place the document in a plastic/waterproof envelope, to protect it from humidity.
- Use cardboard sheets or folders protection, with adhesive sealing or a carboard tube that can hold and protect larger documents while rolled, instead of folded.
- Place the document/letter in the paper or cardboard envelope.
- Close and seal your envelope with a packaging tape.
Padded envelope
Important
If you decide to send items in a padded envelope, plastic-coated or air-bubble-filled bags, no claim can be accepted in the event of damage or loss, since this packaging material can be easily damaged and it doesn't protect your items from humidity or vibrations while transported by the carrier.
- It is essential to wrap the contents in at least 5 cm of bubble wrap.
- Use additional cardboard protection to protect the goods.
- Place the goods in the padded envelope.
- Close and seal your envelope with a packaging tape.
Coverage
In the event of damage, the Claims Department will only consider claims where the items have been transported with sufficient protective material. Any item that is transported without respecting our Packaging Guide will be excluded and ineligible for any compensation otherwise awarded.
